Act by Knowing the Means of Democracy

EuroDEMOS Association is organizing the Training Course Act by Knowing the Means of Democracy that approaches as main themes democracy and youth active participation.

EuroDEMOS is a Civic Attitudes Association, specialized in the last 23 years of voluntary activity in forming opinion leaders by developing civic programmes at mass level and on target groups, of defending human rights, democratic values, European and sustainable development principles.

The Training Act by Knowing the Means of Democracy will take place in Iasi, Romania, on 10th - 19th of April 2013 (10th of April arrival day – 19th of April departure day) and is carried out with the financial support of the European Youth Foundation of the Council of Europe.

The project is open to partners from Armenia, Azerbaijan, Italy, Latvia, Macedonia, Albania, Moldova, Greece, Romania, Spain, Turkey.

Following the motto "Nowadays democratic society is based on the responsibility achieved through civic education and participation" (Morel Bolea) the project aims to train the international participants as active citizens in democracy.

The Training Course Act by Knowing the Means of Democracy applies non formal education principles through methods that actively involve the participants such as quiz, work-shops, analyses, study visit at Iasi City Hall, role plays, facilitated discussions, cultural visit, projects lab and others.

The participants will gain valuable information about democracy and human rights as core values of Council of Europe as well as European tools to apply and promote democracy and human rights through youth active participation.

One of the project results will be the foundation of the  INTERNATIONAL NEWSLETTER on democracy.

The training will be prepared and conducted by a qualified and professional team of trainers, project managers, socio-educative animators and others and the participants will receive specialized training kits and certificates of participation.

Profile of participants:

The training course is opened to youth leaders, youth workers and involved young people from all Council of Europe countries.

  • Youth leaders active within organizations, institutions, authorities;
  • Aged between 18-30;
  • Fluent/medium in English (this will be the working language of the course).

TRAVEL, BOARD AND LODGING:

Travel:

The travel cost will be repaid up to 70% of the travel costs. Only the participants who attend the entire training course can be reimbursed.

Accommodation:

Board and lodging will be provided by EuroDEMOS Association in Iasi city.

Participation fee is 40 euro.
